Our men, women and children had a very special treat this week. University High School Chorus with their conductor and keyboard accompaniment entertained all during lunch. It was quite the sing-a-long at times with all joining in for the familiar Christmas carols. What a festive atmosphere!
Here at St. John's we try our best to make those we serve part of our family and indeed they are, and so are you. Thank you for making this possible, not only during the holiday season but throughout the whole year.
One of the many groups who keep us going over the holiday season arriving yesterday with a truck load of turkeys, fresh produce and canned goods. We will be especially putting it all to good use today at our special Thanksgiving Feast for our homeless and needy!

Our Veterans have been sacrificing for our country since the days of George Washington at Valley Forge... and continue to do so to
It's 7 years this month since we established our Women and Children's Center. It is thriving, having gone from serving 30 women and children in its early days to serving over 100 today, an unfortunate testament to the many people falling into poverty. Under the tireless and energetic leadership of Sr. Jane McKenna,
Through the mercy and love of God, small miracles happen daily at St. John's. The greatest miracle is the service given by so many of you who support our Women and Children's Center, our Medical Clinic, and our meal program. I would like the opportunity to thank

Last weekend we bade a farewell to summer under threatening skies with a cookout in our parking lot for over 300 of our homeless and needy. It was sponsored by Faith Lutheran Church of New Providence who provided burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, beans and soooooo many trays of homemade desserts.
After an all too brief summer, Labor Day is upon us once again!
We pray for all of those who are employed that they may experience a restful weekend.
We especially pray for those seeking employment that God may grant them perseverance in their quest and hope for the future.
Incredible to know that summer is soon coming to an end as TV commercials are promoting "Back to School Sales" and stores are bringing out fall-season clothing to greet students ready for a new school year. I ask myself, when less-fortunate children and their parents see these commercials, what goes
Fr. Bismarck welcomed his first official group of volunteers yesterday! Several young people from State Street Bank gave up their lunch time at work and helped serve the midday meal to over 400 of our needy. They brought relief and comfort to all those on our line on an extremely
