Operation Stand Down helps to keep St. John's Warm for the Coming Winter
Last Saturday brought an extra measure of comfort and support to our homeless and needy. Operation Stand Down is a United States non-profit organization providing services to our homeless veterans. Carmen and Camacho, volunteers with Operation Stand Down, came laden with outdoor survival bags filled to the brim, and distributed them to our homeless. What a blessing with the forecasted impending bad winter. They also brought 1,000 pairs of Foster Grant (drug-store) reading glasses to be distributed to our needy through our Health Services Clinic.
Everybody then enjoyed the most wonderful dinner of chicken, rice, and collard greens. Once again, the entire meal was provided and served by our "anonymous" volunteer and donor.
We are so grateful for the angels among us!
